REPAIR OF SURGERY ENDOLUMENAL
An innovative procedure now allows surgeons to repair stomach anatomy without any incisions. Your doctor may refer to this as a “ROSE” Procedure, which stands for Repair of Surgery Endolumenal (also referred to as transoral surgery). There are several instances in which the anatomy of your stomach may need repair. A ROSE Procedure may be used for repairs such as:
- Dilated gastric pouch and stoma after Gastric Bypass
- Dilated gastric pouch or leak after Sleeve Gastrectomy
The ROSE is performed using a small flexible endoscope and instruments are inserted through the mouth and into the stomach. Tissue anchors are then used to pull tissue folds or edges together repairing necessary areas of the stomach. With this procedure, no external incisions are made into the skin and patients usually go home the same day.
